Daily Wig Care Routine

Four Simple Steps for Better Wig Care

A consistent care routine helps keep your human hair wig soft, smooth, manageable and ready to wear.

01

Wash Gently

Use a sulfate-free shampoo and wash with cool or lukewarm water to remove buildup without stripping moisture.

02

Condition

Apply conditioner through the mid-lengths and ends to restore moisture, softness and manageability.

03

Air Dry

Place the wig on a stand and allow it to air dry naturally. Avoid twisting, rubbing or using excessive heat.

04

Store Properly

Keep your wig on a stand or in a breathable storage bag to help preserve its shape and reduce tangling.

How often should you wash a human hair wig? Wash it when product buildup, odor or reduced movement becomes noticeable. For regular wear, many wigs only need washing after several wears rather than after every use.

Wig Care Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Wig Care

Helpful answers about washing, conditioning, drying, styling, storing and maintaining your human hair wig.

01 How often should I wash my human hair wig?
For most wearers, washing a human hair wig every 8–12 wears is a useful starting point. Wash it sooner if you notice product buildup, odor, reduced movement or excessive dryness. Avoid washing after every use, because frequent washing may remove moisture from the hair.
02 Can I sleep with my wig on?
We recommend removing your wig before sleeping whenever possible. Sleeping in a wig creates friction against pillows and bedding, which can lead to tangling, dryness, matting and unnecessary wear. Store it on a wig stand or in a breathable bag overnight to help preserve its shape.
03 Can I use regular shampoo on my wig?
It is better to use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo or a product designed for human hair wigs. Some regular shampoos contain strong cleansing ingredients that may strip moisture and leave the hair feeling dry. Use cool or lukewarm water and avoid rubbing or twisting the hair while washing.
04 How do I reduce frizz and keep my wig smooth?
Apply a lightweight moisturizing mist or leave-in conditioner, gently detangle from the ends upward and allow the wig to air dry. Limit high heat and heavy product buildup. When using heat tools, apply a heat protectant and use the lowest effective temperature for the style you want.
05 How do I remove lace glue safely?
Apply a lace bond remover or adhesive remover along the hairline and allow it time to soften the glue. Gently lift the lace a little at a time instead of pulling it away quickly. Remove any remaining residue carefully, then clean and dry the lace before storing or reinstalling the wig.
06 How long do wig care products last?
Product lifespan depends on the bottle size, your wig length and how frequently you use it. With regular but moderate use, many sprays, shampoos and styling products can last several months. Keep products tightly closed and store them in a cool, dry place. Follow the expiration or period-after-opening information shown on the packaging.
